What battery does the OR700LCDRM1U actually use?
The OR700LCDRM1U uses RB0690X2, which holds two 6 V cells in series rated 8 Ah on a 12 V DC bus. It fits a 151 x 36 mm bay with F2 terminals. This model has no serial-number split that we could find.

CyberPower lists 207 x 35 x 225 mm for the pack, and a compatible 6 V cell measures 5.94 x 1.42 x 3.86 in. CyberPower rates this 6V 8Ah despite the "90" in its name. Resellers often say 9 Ah. Full RB0690X2 teardown
How many DC amps does the OR700LCDRM1U pull?
At its full 400 W rating, the OR700LCDRM1U pulls about 40.7 A from its 12 V bus, and about 46.5 A as the battery sags to 10.5 V cutoff. Those figures assume 82% inverter efficiency, because CyberPower doesn't publish one for battery mode.
| AC load | Nominal | At cutoff |
|---|---|---|
| 25 W | 2.5 A | 2.9 A |
| 60 W | 6.1 A | 7.0 A |
| 100 W | 10.2 A | 11.6 A |
| 200 W | 20.3 A | 23.2 A |
| 300 W | 30.5 A | 34.8 A |
| 400 W | 40.7 A | 46.5 A |
Is LiFePO4 safe in the OR700LCDRM1U?
A 12 A BMS limits the OR700LCDRM1U to about 118 W, well below its 400 W rating. At full load the verdict is RED. We could not verify a LiFePO4 pack that fits this bay and harness, so we link none. Drag the slider below to test your own load.
6 V vs 12 V rackmount trap: this 1U pack uses two 6 V cells in series, about 35 mm thick. A 12 V battery is too wide for the tray and would double the pack voltage. Never fit one.

OR700LCDRM1U: lead-acid anchored to OEM half and full-load runtimes, LiFePO4 on a flat energy curve with inverter tare, at 82% inverter efficiency. A real inrush can trip a BMS below this ceiling. RB0690X2 teardown.
| BMS continuous | Safe AC load | Share of 400 W |
|---|---|---|
| 10 A | 98 W | 25% |
| 12 A | 118 W | 30% |
| 15 A | 148 W | 37% |
| 20 A | 197 W | 49% |
The 12.8 V LiFePO4 pack we checked is a 12 V block. It neither fits this 35 mm tray nor suits a 6 V cell position. So we show no drop-in link.
How long will the OR700LCDRM1U run on each battery?
CyberPower publishes about 11 min at 200 W and 3 min at 400 W on the stock cells, and our curve passes through both points. We found no larger cell verified for this bay. Drag the slider for your own load.

Upgraded AGM scales from the anchored curve, with k = 1.18 standard and 1.12 high-rate. LiFePO4 uses a flat energy curve with inverter tare. Method.
Which replacement should you buy for the OR700LCDRM1U?
There are three routes for the OR700LCDRM1U. Path A swaps in two bare cells and reuses your harness. Path B is withheld, because no verified pack fits. Path C replaces the whole UPS, which makes most sense for units over six years old.
| Path | Best for | Load limit | Main risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| A: bare SLA swap | Lowest cost, any load | 400 W | Terminal or case mismatch |
| B: drop-in LiFePO4 | Light loads, long life | not offered | BMS trip, charger mismatch |
| C: native LiFePO4 UPS | A unit over 6 years old, or high loads | 800 W | Slower transfer than this UPS |
Path A: the bare-cell SLA swap
Surge-safe, because AGM has no BMS to trip.
Path B: drop-in LiFePO4
Path C: a native LiFePO4 UPS
Worth it if this UPS is 6 or more years old, if a fault above isn't a battery problem, or if you need more than the BMS limit. Listings and reviews put Goldenmate's transfer at 8 to 20 ms, against this unit's 8 ms typical, so check that your PC tolerates it.
How do you move the OR700LCDRM1U harness to bare cells?
You move the factory jumper and leads from the old blocks to the new ones, in the same polarity. Unplug the UPS first, and tape each lead as it comes off, because the battery stays live. Sealed sleds must be opened first. No soldering is needed.
- Shut down the load, turn the UPS off and unplug it from the wall.
- Take a photo of the wiring. Open the battery door or sled and slide the pack out.
- Pull the red clip off the positive tab, and tape it straight away.
- Remove the black lead and tape it.
- Check the new cell has the right size and tabs, then add any adapters from the parts list.
- Fit the leads one at a time, matching your photo, and remove the tape only from the lead you are fitting.
- Slide it back, plug in and charge for the time the manual gives before relying on it.
- Recycle the old cell at a battery retailer. Never bin lead-acid.
Sixty seconds is the best case for a loose-cell unit. Sealed sleds need opening first, and opening them may affect your warranty and CyberPower's equipment guarantee.
How much do you save over the RB0690X2?
We can't state a saving for RB0690X2, because we have no sourced price for a verified bare cell. Any figure here would be a guess, so this page leaves it out rather than estimating one for you. Compare the list price with your own quote.

What do the OR700LCDRM1U alarms and fault codes mean?
CyberPower OR700LCDRM1U user manual lists 1 signals we track for the OR700LCDRM1U. Only 0 of them point to the battery, and 1 mean you should not buy batteries yet. Read your signal below first, because a new battery won't fix a charger, a relay or an overload.
The text we captured documents an overload alarm and no numeric codes.
| Signal | Meaning | What to do | Battery swap? | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Overload alarm | Overload | Turn the UPS off and unplug something. A new battery won't help. | Do not buy batteries | T1 manual |
How do you reach the battery in the OR700LCDRM1U?
On the OR700LCDRM1U, the manual says: faceplate off, then three screws on the cable cover. Inside there are two batteries of about 151 x 36 mm. Check the details below before you start, turn the unit off and unplug it first, and photograph the wiring so you can match it later.
| Field | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Battery door access | Faceplate off, then three screws on the cable cover | T1 manual |
| Cell orientation | Not stated in the manual we captured | same manual |
| Harness connector type | Black and red cable, then a retaining screw on the cable connectors | same manual |
