What is inside the RBC1500?
RBC1500 holds two 12 V blocks wired in series rated 7 Ah, giving a 24 V bus. Tripp Lite publishes the cell count. We inferred the count from its voltage and size. Both blocks carry the same current and should be replaced together. Check the label on your old blocks before ordering a replacement.

Which UPS models use the RBC1500?
Of the 35 models we track, RBC1500 fits SMART1500LCD. That list comes from the manufacturer's pages, and they sometimes disagree with reseller listings. Where a model splits by serial number, its UPS page shows which prefix takes this cartridge, so check your label before you order.
| UPS | Rating | Serial condition |
|---|---|---|
| SMART1500LCD | 1500 VA / 900 W | all serials |
Which bare cells replace the RBC1500?
Replace RBC1500 with two 12V 9 Ah F2 (same case as 7 Ah) cells and reuse the factory harness. A reseller sells a compatible Tripp Lite LCD set as 12V 7Ah with F2 terminals. The terminal comes from a retailer cross-reference or inference, so check your old cell first. Keep the old harness, because bare cells ship without leads.
Can LiFePO4 replace the RBC1500?
A 12.8 V LiFePO4 pack fits the RBC1500 bay, but its BMS sets the limit. A 12 A BMS allows about 236 W on this 24 V bus. Series packs add volts rather than amps, and they can drift apart on the charger. Measure your real load before you buy.
At the listing's 20 A claim the ceiling is 394 W, and at 12 A it is 236 W. Why that matters.
How much does the RBC1500 cost against bare cells?
We can't state a saving for RBC1500. We found no published list price for it. A figure here would be invented, so this page leaves it out and points you to the sources we did check. Ask the manufacturer for current pricing.
